All About Hot Water Dispensers

With today's fast-paced lifestyle, hot water dispensers offer a huge benefit! Many homeowners admit that once they have one, they never want to live without one. You can basically have instant near-boiling 200 degree water right at the kitchen sink. A hot water dispenser can simplify and quicken countless tasks... make instant soups, clean sticky pans, brew gourmet coffee or tea, warm baby bottles, and so much more!

There are also hot and cold water dispensers so that you can have either near-boiling water or ice-cold water, instantly! Fortunately, hot water dispensers are very simple to operate and take up minimal space in your kitchen. Let's talk about how they work. The dispensers have a faucet that is connected to a small storage tank, mounted under the kitchen sink.

The tank is connected to the cold-water supply line, which fills the tank with cold water, as well as a standard 120V household circuit, which powers an electric coil. The coil heats the water while it's in the tank so that it's always hot and ready the instant you dispense it. Before purchasing a hot water dispenser, ensure that you have a hole in the sink for the spout. And, when setting it up, keep in mind that you can't have the water at boiling temperature or the steam may damage the tank.

The temperature of the dispensed water can usually be adjusted and will range from around 140° F to just under 200° F, and water boils at 212° F. A replaceable thermal fuse will help prevent the tank from overheating. Some hot water dispensers offer extra features that you may want to look for. A childproof lock can prevent little hands from getting burned.

A gooseneck faucet not only looks stylish but is taller so that tall glasses and big pots can fit under it more easily. Consider the finishes and style of your kitchen and kitchen sink faucet so that you can closely match it. You may want a built-in water filtration system with your hot or cold water dispenser.
